New Year’s Resolutions are pretty common.
The most common New Year’s resolutions are to lose weight or become healthier. 🥗
These are actually fantastic resolutions and we’re not here to say anything discouraging about these types of resolutions or self promises.
However, we’re just taking a moment to remind you that while health is always a worthwhile effort, it’s not all about weight. 🗣
There is so much more to life, and health should be holistic.
So let’s take a look at some New Year’s Resolutions that you can absolutely realistically keep. 😉

1. Be Grateful
It may seem redundant at first, but this is extremely important. The best part is, it isn’t very hard to do.
Every morning or evening, think about 10 specific things in your life that you are thankful for currently.
I get it, sometimes it seems like there isn’t much.
But I promise you, there is something. You may have to really dig deep at first, but it’ll come a bit more naturally after a week or so.
2. Give Yourself a Break
Self Care is definitely still trending, but this is a far beyond a fad.
This also goes a bit further than manicures and sleeping until noon.
Self care in this context is simply giving yourself a break.
Allow yourself to breathe.
Don’t constantly beat yourself up when you have trouble changing a perspective on something or giving up a harmful habit.
Life is hard enough on the outside. Be kind to yourself on the inside.
3. Learn from the Past
There’s a saying that goes something like, “Fool me once…”
Yep, you know it.
Life isn’t perfect, and mistakes are natural.
But it’s important that mistakes are not made for nothing.
Learning from the mistakes we make encourages our growth.
Don’t sell yourself short!
4. Give Up One Negative Habit at a Time
Quitting things “cold turkey” seems great, doesn’t it?
But on a day-to-day basis, it usually doesn’t yield fabulous results.
Taking things one day at a time, however, does.
There might be 25 bad habits you have right now that you’d like to give up.
It might even be tempting to try and take a flying leap towards your goal of quitting all of them — at once.
You may have even tried that before.
As Dr. Phil would say, ”How’s that workin’ for you?’
Instead, try giving up one detrimental habit or belief per month.
Yes, 30 days.
Drink too much soda? Coffee? Beer?
Give up one of them gradually in a 30-day period.
Then, the next month, move on to the next one.
Studies show, you’re more likely to kick the habit for good that way.
5. Dream Big — But Make Plans
Bill Gates once said that people often overestimate what they can accomplish in a year, but underestimate what they can accomplish in ten years.
Ask any highly successful person what the very first thing is that you should do if you want to be successful:
Imagine you are.
See yourself there.
Now, while this is mega, mega important, the next thing you should do is plan.
Planning for success is more powerful than only dreaming of it.
Both in action is a lethal combination.
What are your goals for the New Year? ✨
We’re glad to be here on your journey to health and wellness. 🙏🏽
